Props Theatre School Courses

PROPS - PROduction and Performance Skills - Ages 6 -16

Attending regular weekly practical workshops/classes is the first step on any student's journey with Props Theatre School.

Students are encouraged to learn through devising, planning and performing.

PROPS offers opportunities to learn, study and perform in every aspect of work in the theatre from Street Theatre to Shakespeare, Musical Theatre and Pantomime

They have the opportunity to write their own plays and sketches, to work with film, work backstage on costume, technical and so on.

Students are encouraged to work on their own ideas and present them in an annual finished production.

There is also the opportunity to take advantage of numerous theatre trips and extra curricular workshops, the chance to meet and work with professional actors, directors and playwrights.

Students have access to our extensive theatre library including books, videos and DVDs.

Along side the PROPS practical workshops are classes studying in preparation for solo LAMDA Examinations up to Level 3

These are Nationally Accredited Qualifications (QCA)

LAMDA Examinations

Our examinations are assessed by external examiners from the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA)

We only enter our candidates for SOLO examinations as only solo examinations hold merit, i.e. UCAS Points  (QCA)

We regularly offer the courses discussed below but also, sometimes, vary what we offer to best suit the student.

"The LAMDA Diploma in Speech and Drama Education (LSDE) has been recognised by Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) as a professional teaching qualification that can lead to employment within the industry." Taken from the LAMDA website.
